CHERRIES have been linked with moves for strikers Dimitar Berbatov and Jermain Defoe by national newspapers.
Monaco frontman Berbatov joined the Ligue One club from Fulham in January last year following spells with Manchester United and Tottenham.
The 34-year-old is out of contract this summer and the Daily Express has reported that Cherries are interested in the veteran Bulgarian.
Meanwhile, according to the Daily Mirror, Defoe will be targeted by Cherries if Sunderland lose their top-flight relegation battle.
Ex-West Ham hitman Defoe scored 19 goals during a near-season-long loan spell with Cherries in 2000-01.
The Dorset outfit have also been linked with moves for Brentford midfielder Jota, Seattle Sounders frontman Obafemi Martins and Everton defender Sylvain Distin.
