MATT Ritchie yesterday earned his second Scotland cap as the Tartan Army overcame an early scare to brush aside Gibraltar 6-1 in Euro 2016 qualifying.

The Cherries winger started at Hampden Park and played his part as the hosts surged into a 4-1 lead at the break.

Two penalties from Shaun Maloney and goals from Steven Fletcher and Steven Naismith put Scotland in control, although policeman Lee Casciaro had briefly levelled at 1-1.

Ritchie was replaced by Brighton defender Gordon Greer at halftime and two more goals from Fletcher - which completed his hat-trick - rounded off an emphatic win.

Elsewhere, Cherries frontman Tokelo Rantie played 72 minutes of South Africa’s 1-1 friendly draw against Nigeria in Nelspruit.

The score was locked at 0-0 when Rantie was substituted for Lehlohonolo Majoro. Ahmed Musa put Nigeria in front with five minutes left before Bongani Zungu struck to earn Bafana Bafana a draw.

The uncapped Harry Arter and experienced international Artur Boruc were both unused substitutes for the Republic of Ireland and Poland in the teams' the Euro 2016 qualifier, which ended 1-1.

Baily Cargill was an unused substitute as England under-20s defeated the United States 2-1 in a friendly at Plymouth’s Home Park ground.

On Saturday, Cherries midfielder Shaun MacDonald made his first international appearance in five years as Wales wrapped up a memorable 3-0 victory in Israel.

The Swansea-born midfielder was brought on in place of Aaron Ramsey in the 86th minute. Gareth Bale (2) and Ramsey won the game for the Welsh.

Meanwhile, Cherries keeper Benji Buchel was an unused substitute as Liechtenstein were beaten 5-0 by rampant Austria on Friday.
