CHERRIES boss Eddie Howe and striker Callum Wilson have been rewarded for a profitable October with nominations for the Championship’s monthly awards.

Howe was shortlisted for the manager-of-the-month gong having guided Cherries to four league wins, including the club record 8-0 triumph at Birmingham City, as his team rapidly climbed the table.

He also masterminded a League Cup victory against West Brom which saw the club reach the quarter-finals for the first time in its history.

A five-man panel including former Norwich City manager Chris Hughton and Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman will choose between Howe, Blackburn’s Gary Bowyer, Huddersfield’s Chris Powell and Fulham’s Kit Symons.

During Howe’s first spell in charge, he won two manager-of-the-month awards in Cherries' League One promotion season - in November 2012 and April 2013.

He was also shortlisted on four occasions when he piloted the Dean Court side from the depths of League Two to promotion in 2008-09 and 2009-10.

Meanwhile, Wilson, who has netted 11 goals this season, has been nominated for the player-of-the-month award.

The former Coventry City hitman notched six in five games during October, including a dramatic late winner against West Brom.

He scored both goals in Cherries’ 2-1 win at Bolton at the start of October and was also on target in victories over Charlton, Reading and Birmingham.

Wilson faces competition from Nottingham Forest winger Michail Antonio, Millwall stopper David Forde and Wolves midfielder Bakary Sako.

The winners in both categories will be revealed tomorrow.
