LIONS chief David Dunn has revealed his not-so-secret weapon for a bruising battle with Dings Crusaders – veteran enforcer Tim Collier.

Dunn is set to unleash the former Harlequins and Worcester lock forward for a rare start as Bournemouth prepare for a stern physical examination against the Bristol outfit tomorrow (2.30pm).

Lions travel to Dings gunning for a morale-boosting victory following the 43-7 lesson they were given by Hartpury College last time out.

Dings boast just one win in their four league matches so far this term and sit second from bottom in National Two South after being deducted six points.

Lions have made a promising start following promotion but director of rugby Dunn is determined to get back to winning ways. He believes ex-England under-21s second row Collier will prove an ideal man to lock horns with Dings in a fierce contest up front.

Dunn told the Daily Echo: “We are targeting this game for a win. Dings have got zero points but that is not a true reflection as I believe they had six points deducted. This is the first time we will have played against a team who are below us in the league.

“We are expecting a tough physical encounter and have picked our squad accordingly, with Tim Collier and Tommy Booth.

“I am sure it will be another intimidating atmosphere. Tim played there for Barking a few years ago and he will be able to talk the players through it on the field.

“He is in good shape. He has worked hard and we have used him sparingly so far. The pitches are now becoming heavier and it will be more his sort of game.”

Powerful back-row forward Jack Hennings is also in line to make a welcome return having missed the start of the season due to a back injury.

Dunn added: “Jack Hennings came through a game for the seconds last week and it is great to have him back in contention.

“He is great around the squad and in the changing room, as well as a very strong ball-carrying forward on the pitch.”

Influential scrum-half Sam Hardcastle and forwards Dan Cawley, Luke Andrews and Will Brooks are all unavailable for the trip to Bristol. Booth, George Drake and Hennings come into the Lions squad.
