SWANAGE & Wareham’s miserable South West One East run continued as they were beaten 25-10 at home by Salisbury.

Charlie Parish’s penalty was all Swans had to show for their first-half endeavours as the visitors cruised to a 25-3 lead at the break.

A much-improved second-half showing from the hosts yielded a try for Simon Landrum, which Rory Triniman converted, but despite Swans’ efforts to close the gap, Salisbury held firm.

The Es ran in 19 unanswered points during an eight-minute second-half purple patch after the visitors had threatened a comeback.

Dan Stewart ran in two tries in the first half, alongside another touch down from Joe Evans and three conversions and one |penalty from kicker John Firkin as the Es went into the break leading 22-13.

Stewart added his third and fourth tries after the restart, while Dominic Pitt and Charlie Cockram also dived over. Firkin added another two conversions as the hosts cruised to victory late on.

  • Wimborne came from behind to see off Frome 43-19 in Southern Counties South.

The All Blacks were staring defeat in the face after going into half-time 19-0 behind at Leigh Park.

But a stunning fightback was spearheaded by Jim Brokenshire, who ran in four tries during a second-half master class from the hosts.

Declan Foley, Steve King and Jamie Tryska also dived over for the home side, while Tom Moysey slotted over four conversions.
