HAMWORTHY United boss Simon Browne has bolstered his resources with the addition of former Cherries youngster Paddy Hester.

The 18-year-old, who was releas-ed by Cherries in May, has joined the Hammers following an unsuccessful trial with Premier League Norwich.

Hester earned a one-year pro contract at Dean Court after progressing through the ranks and spent time on loan to Bashley last season.

Browne told the Daily Echo: “Paddy contacted me and I think he has had to re-evaluate his plans. He has got a job with an estate agency and wants to play and keep up his fitness.

“We have an opportunity to give him some game-time and, although there may be some availability issues with regard to his job, I am delighted to have someone of his calibre on board.”

Hester is expected to start when Hammers travel to Wessex Premier leaders Moneyfields tomorrow (3pm). Dave Sturgess, who has dual registered from Poole Town , is also in contention.

  • Christchurch boss Graham Kemp is still awaiting international clearance for Billy Puckett – and has questioned the delay.

Striker Puckett, who had been playing for Manly in Australia, rejoined the club earlier this month and Kemp had been hoping to have called on him by now.

“I’m not too sure how international clearance works,” admitted Kemp. “I can’t see why Premier League clubs get it through in hours and we have to wait days. We fill out the same forms as they do and the FA deal with them and us in the same way. Somehow, I don’t think Manchester United would have to wait this long.”

Priory will put on the line their unbeaten start in Wessex Premier when they host neighbours Poppies at Hurn Bridge (3pm).
