PLAYGOLF will sponsor the Cherries youth team this season after agreeing a landmark sponsorship deal with the club.

The Bournemouth branch of Playgolf, based at Iford, will become the first company to have its logo displayed solely on the youngsters’ home and away shirts.

The youth team have made a solid start to the Youth Alliance south west campaign under the guidance of former Tottenham academy coach Ross Embleton, and will also be hoping to make progress in the prestigious FA Youth Cup.

The new season marks an important chapter in the young players’ careers as they look to earn their first professional contracts and break into the newly formed development squad.

Playgolf Group marketing manager Kate Palmer is delighted to have agreed a deal that will see the AFC Bournemouth Academy and Playgolf join forces.

“This really is an exciting new adventure for Playgolf and we are really looking forward to working with and supporting such a great team,” she said.

“With amazing opportunities for both companies and the youth following that we both have. It really has opened up some exciting opportunities.”

Cherries commercial executive Tom Jeffes said: “It’s great to be working with such a well-recognised company like Playgolf.

“They are really keen to work with the players over the course of the season, and I know that means a lot to Ross and the players. The youth team have a really exciting future and hopefully it won’t be too long until we see some of the players breaking into the first team.”

As part of the deal supporters will be able to enjoy exclusive offers on rounds at the fantastic Playgolf 18 hole golf course.
