ASSISTANT boss Graham Kavanagh has warned Cherries that Carlisle United are determined to continue their play-off charge by defying the Dorset club’s spending power.

Greg Abbott’s number two insists the Cumbrians will be pulling out all the stops to enhance their League One promotion chances when they visit Seward Stadium tomorrow (3pm).

Cherries spent an estimated £1.6million during the January transfer window but a run of five consecutive defeats has seen them drop into mid-table, while the seventh-placed Cumbrians remain firmly in contention for the play-off places.

Kavanagh told the Carlisle News & Star: “Bournemouth have spent lots of money and good luck to them.

“But that won’t be enough for us to just turn up and respect them.

“They will have to earn a victory against us if they manage to get it at all.”

Unbeaten in 14 home games, Carlisle are still awaiting their first goal and point on the road in 2012.

Meanwhile, Cherries winger Marc Pugh could return from injury but record signing Matt Tubbs is set to miss out with a groin problem.
