TOM Killick believes Poole Town are at risk of losing more players to Wimborne – because he reckons Dolphins are “victims of our own success”.
Killick’s comments come after midfielder Micky Hubbard opted to join fellow former Poole players Russell Cook and Tom Jeffes at Cuthbury.
The Dolphins boss thinks the gap between Division One South & West promotion hopefuls Poole and struggling Wimborne means some of his players could seek regular football with Magpies.
Killick told the Daily Echo: “At the moment, one of the problems we have got is that players who aren’t playing regularly for me could stay in the league and play regular football with Wimborne.
“We are a victim of our own success in a way. I am sure the gap between us will reduce and in a way when that happens, it might make life easier because we might not have that situation.”
Killick also felt that Hubbard’s exit demonstrated the progress made at Tatnam – as the former Cherries trainee was no longer an automatic selection.
He added: “In the past, Micky would have been pretty much guaranteed a place but with the calibre of players we have got, we have reached a point where he was not always going to be first choice.”
