MAGPIES manager Steve Cuss has revealed he is in talks with potential recruits in a bid to enhance his team’s poor Southern League record.

Struggling Wimborne Town have seen their squad depleted by a double blow in recent weeks – the sale of winger Ryan Wignall and the end of Tom Hill’s loan from Bashley.

Cuss told the Daily Echo: “We have got a couple of people we are talking to.

“It is not an easy time to get players – with three months of the season to go – but we’ll keep persevering on that.”

Second from bottom in Division One South & West, the Cuthbury outfit will be aiming to claim their first away league win since the opening day when they travel to Clevedon tomorrow (3pm).

Cuss wants to see an improvement following last Saturday’s disappointing 2-0 home loss against Yate.

He added: “We talked about both ends of the pitch and, in previous games, we had defended well and still had a goal threat.

“But last Saturday, I was disappointed with the goals we conceded and we lacked that bit of creativity.

“We have got to get back to defending properly as a team and also attacking better as well.”

Leading scorer Matt Kemble is set to return after suspension, but Russell Cook is unavailable.
