IT was a case of déjà vu for Swanage & Wareham as they let slip an early lead for the second successive week at Salisbury.
This time, Swans’ agony was in the Dorset & Wilts Cup as they crashed to a 29-10 defeat in Wiltshire just seven days after suffering a league reverse at the same venue.
Trevis Bartels kicked Salisbury into the lead, but Swans hit back thanks to Ollie Andrews’ try.
However, Charlie Jennings restored the hosts’ advantage with a try just before the break.
David Price-Smith crashed over for the visitors just after the restart, though, before three more tries for the home side settled the tie.
Swans: Dunsford, Rowberry, Parish, Wilcox, Price-Smith, Harris, Tomes (D Jones, 61), Andrews, Bocio (Holinshead, 50), Audley, Burgess, Collins (Snowden, 45), Desmond, A Jones, Marshallsay (Wyburgh, 78).
• Wimborne bowed out of the Dorset & Wilts Vase at the semi-final stage when they were beaten 22-10 by Wootton Bassett.
Both Jay van Wyk and Tom Brown dived over for the All Blacks, but despite van Wyk also kicking two conversions and two penalties, the Leigh Park side missed out on the chance to play North Dorset in the final.
All Blacks: Busby, Hopkins, Billet, Jordan, Davies, Orchard, Laird, Champ, McDonald, van Wyk, J Brokenshire, Horne, Brown, Lennon, Maltman, Green, Hunt, Roberts.
