GOALKEEPER Jon Page was sent off as Ringwood Town were condemned to a 1-0 defeat by Wessex Division One strugglers Stockbridge at the Canotec Stadium.
Page saw red after just 15 minutes for hauling down Steve Witt, the goalkeeper’s indiscretion apparently denying the Stockbridge man a clear goalscoring opportunity.
Although Ringwood boss Wayne Lockey “disputed” the decision, claiming the striker had not been destined to score, Witt netted the only goal of a dour contest from the resultant penalty.
Ringwood: Page, Marks, Eley (Howes, 75), Morrell, Hetherington, Clark, Yeats, Payne (Old, 60), Leadbetter, Fleet, Chalk (Wells, 75). Unused subs: Schwartz, Bailey.
• Poole Town’s scheduled Sydenhams Wessex Premier Division match away to Brading Town last night was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
