PHIL Warner faces a race against time to be fit for Poole Town’s FA Vase fifth-round tie against Northern League Division One champions Spennymoor on Saturday.
The experienced defender hobbled off with a suspected calf injury during Dolphins’ hard-earned 2-0 Wessex League win at Lymington Town last night.
Taffy Richardson grabbed his first goal since October 23 as he headed the Premier Division title holder’s opener in the 62nd minute.
Michael Walker also nodded home as Poole gained revenge for their shock 2-1 cup defeat at Southampton Road last month.
Richardson said: “We’re six points behind leaders Winchester City with four games in hand so it’s going well at the moment.”
Dolphins also lost striker Tom Jeffes to injury, but he is cup-tied for the Vase game.
Dolphins: Jones, Warner (Poore, 10), Dibba, M Walker, McCormick, Roberts (Smith, 65), Richardson, Skelton, Sturgess, Preston, Jeffes (Cann, 35). Unused subs: Hubbard, Bassiriki Diane.
