POOLE Town boss Tom Killick is resisting the temptation to panic following their third defeat in seven matches.

Dolphins were crushed 4-1 by derby rivals Hamworthy United in a frantic midweek Wessex Premier clash.

The reverse, which followed setbacks at Lymington Town (cup) and Blackfield & Langley (league), has seriously questioned Killick’s side’s title credentials.

But, ahead of Poole’s home league clash against Fawley tomorrow (3pm), defiant Killick said: “It was a painful defeat. That’s local rivalry for you.

“I’ve no complaints we lost because their finishing was clinical and they defended very well.

“Some teams get carried away with one result though. We’ve lost to Blackfield and Hamworthy but will be judged on our position after 42 games.”
