MANAGER Lee Bradbury is backing his dynamic strike duo to continue their early success.
Bradbury has demonstrated his faith in summer signing Michael Symes and emerging talent Danny Ings by throwing the pair into League One action in the past three matches.
The move has already reaped rich rewards as Cherries have seen off Brighton, Plymouth and Swindon since the rookie boss picked the double act to lead his attack.
While Ings’s lively running and skilful style has caught the eye, Symes has proved an effective foil, combining good hold-up play with a bright creative awareness.
Symes played a major role in Ings’s first senior goal on Tuesday night and the two Cherries strikers are in line to face Leyton Orient at Dean Court tomorrow (3pm).
And Bradbury is tipping them to form a productive alliance as the season progresses.
He told the Echo: “They looked a real threat on Tuesday, more so in the first half.
“They could have had a couple of goals each in the game but I was really thankful Ingsy ended up getting his goal. He deserved that.
“His work rate is phenomenal and he’s coming of age. Every week, he is getting better and better.”
Bradbury added: “Everyone is different but you need at least four or five games before you start to know each other inside out.
“They are getting to know each other and developing a little bit of an understanding which I thought showed on Tuesday. Week in, week out, they will get better as a partnership.”
