TOM Jeffes is aiming to end his nomadic Wessex League existence by settling at Poole Town.

The much-travelled striker made his debut for the reigning champions on Tuesday night after joining from Premier Division rivals Bournemouth Poppies.

Local lad Jeffes, who works in the commercial department at AFC Bournemouth, has represented a host of clubs during his career in step five football.

He is a proven performer, having hit seven goals for Poppies this term to follow his tally of 18 for Christchurch last time round.

The 24-year-old also enjoyed a productive campaign in 2007-08, finding the net 18 times in 32 starts for Poppies before going on to play for both Brockenhurst and Hamworthy United.

But having been snapped up by Dolphins boss Tom Killick, Jeffes has set his sights on a longer stay with his new club.

He told the Echo: “It’s a big club with a big history and it’s a good challenge for me. I’m looking forward to it.

“They have got some good strikers here. There is plenty of competition, so it will be a good challenge to get in the team.

“I’ve been around a few clubs now. I loved it at Christchurch and enjoyed a couple of spells at Poppies, but I just felt this was too good a move to turn down.

“It’s a big club and, hopefully, it works out.”
