BASHLEY (Rydal) are fearful their old Bournemouth bogey will come back to haunt them once again when they put their ECB Southern Electric Premier League title hopes at risk at Chapel Gate on Saturday, 11.30.
Andy Sexton's side effectively lead the SPL by 15 points from BAT Sports but they haven't beaten Bournemouth for years.
And have twice lost to them in Premier League and Electric Cup matches already this season.
"It's time we redressed the balance," Sexton said. "With BAT playing at Portsmouth, Saturday's a crucial day and we must ensure we're still top at the end of it."
Unchanged Bournemouth thrashed BAT by 122 runs last week, but Bashley are without teenager Chris Jones, who is on England Under-15 duty.
Richard Knowles replaces him.
HEAT'S ON LYMINGTON
It's also a must win' day for struggling Lymington, who need to beat basement boys Old Tauntonians and Romsey at the Sports Ground to stave off the increasing threat of Division Two relegation.
Four successive defeats have plunged Lymington into third from bottom spot in Premier Two effectively one win above Hungerford but if Adie Hunt's side can beat OTs, they will ease their relegation worries.
WATTS' RALLYING CRY
Steve Watts has called on his New Milton team to halt the rot against Division Three strugglers Calmore Sports at Fernhill.
"We've had three vital games in the past weeks and didn't win any of them so if we want to get promoted, we can't lose another game," Watts said.
New Milton: Watts, L Beck, Griffiths, Wheeler, Edgell, R Beck, Whitehurst, Bishop, Loader, Snellgrove, Gargaro.
- New Milton have slipped behind Bashley (Rydal) in the rung and now Shaun Lilley has a sniff of promotion in his nostrils.
But in-form Portsmouth II's visit to the BCG promises to be critical for Bashley, who have a great chance of promotion if they can win on Saturday.
Bashley (Rydal) II: S Lilley, J Ward, N Sexton, N Taylor, C Maher, B Nolan-Stone, C Vaughan, C Gates, R Grierson, J Whiting, Greg Jones.
- Simon Ridley hopes to continue his good batting form for Bournemouth II against Hartley Wintney in North Hampshire.
Bournemouth II: Coombs, S Ridley, Haniff, Malik, Staddon, C Ridley, Pearce, Garlick, Bishop, Harris, Denning.
