WIMBORNE boss Alex Browne blamed himself for their defeat at Stourport after claiming he hadn’t given his players the “right instructions”.

Lee Chudy bagged their early equaliser after John Griffin fired Stourport in front, but two more first-half strikes from Swifts meant Magpies returned home empty handed.

Browne, who couldn’t hide his deep disappointment, said: “The scoreline probably didn’t reflect the game and how we played.

“Our performance in the first 25 minutes was as good as I have seen us play.

“Unfortunately, we gave away a couple of goals that we could have done better with.

“The players will keep doing the right things, though, and we will be okay in this league.

“I asked them to play football but probably at times I’m not giving them the right instructions to do it in certain areas of the pitch.”

Chudy’s sixth goal of the campaign was, seemingly, the only positive to come out of Wimborne’s performance.

Browne, who also saw Chudy hit the woodwork when it was 1-1, said: “I’ve left him out of the side a couple of times. He doesn’t like being left out but his attitude has been outstanding.”
