HAMWORTHY United midfielder Richard Jackson crashed in a late winner from close range as they consolidated sixth spot with a 2-1 triumph at lowly Hamble.
Max Crow had fired Hammers in front in the first half only for Jamie Musselwhite to level for Hamble on the hour.
Hammers manager Simon Browne said: “I would have been disappointed if we hadn’t got the win. It would have been two points dropped. Hamble had a few chances but we were the best side.
“We had four or five chances in the first half and five or six in the second and, on another day, Luke Burbidge would have had a hat-trick, but it just wasn’t his day this time.”
Hammers: Ackerman, Murray, White, Horlock, Haysom, Jackson, Crow, Corby, Mullins (Robinson, 80), Swann (Cannie, 60), Burbidge. Unused subs: Antrobus, Satterley, Roberts.
