VERWOOD boss Adie Arnold believes they “lack an out-and-out leader” following their disappointing 1-1 draw at Cowes Sports in Wessex Division One.
Pete King gave Verwood a 10th-minute lead from close range but the Islanders grabbed a first-half equaliser.
Arnold said: “We just can’t seem to kill off sides.
“We take the lead but then take our foot off the pedal. It’s the third or fourth time it’s happened this season. It’s happening too often.
“I’m looking for the players to take responsibility because we lack an out-and-out leader on the pitch.
“I can’t do any more from the sidelines. The players need to step up to the plate to make sure they carry on doing what gets them into winning positions.”
Verwood: Fawcett, Elysee, Dear, Delaney, Murray, Kelly (Moore, 65), Dyer, Lanahan (Martin Newbery, 80), Webb, King, Haskell.
• Ringwood lost 2-0 at United Services Portsmouth.
