Ringwood boss Wayne Lockey left Cranleigh Road thoroughly dejected after they tossed away an early lead and had Sean Leadbetter sent off.
Carl Fleet put the visitors ahead early on and Ringwood controlled the game against Division One’s leaders AFC Portchester for 25 minutes.
But Lockey said: “They scored from a free-kick and we just seemed to capitulate, which is annoying because we hadn’t done that for such a long time.
“Sean was then sent off in the 75th minute for dissent, which is inexcusable, when we were 3-1 down. Their goalkeeper was man-of-the-match, which says it all really.”
Ringwood: Old, Clark, Yeats, Morrell (Taylor 50), Midson (Chattey 75), Hetherington (Sexton 80), Marks, Leadbetter, Fleet, Bladen. Unused subs: Pierson, Burnet.
