LYMINGTON skipper Morgan Rushbrook insists his struggling side have the belief to pull away from the foot of the table.

Rushbrook’s men have won just once in the Southern League top flight all season and they continue their battle to avoid relegation when they visit high-flying Hampshire Academy tomorrow.

But despite being up against it so far this term, Rushbrook remains hopeful that his team can improve their record.

He said: “A couple of victories can turn it round and it’s just about getting on a roll.

“We do believe we can do it and it’s just about doing the right things and picking up a couple of wins to turn things round.”

League leaders Bournemouth could do Lymington a favour when they visit second-bottom Alton, while fifth-placed Bashley host St Cross Symondians.

Bashley: Neal, Sexton, Thurgood, R Morris, Prince, Grierson, Friedman, Baker, Maher, King, Nash.

Bournemouth: S Ridley, Allum, J Park, N Park, Cahill, Cooke, de Weymarn, Watkins, Denham, Wainwright, Barlow.

Lymington: Barton, Grierson, Rushbrook, Treagus, McMurray, Lammiman, Khan, Beetham, Newton, Thacker, Elliott.

<•>Division Two frontrunners New Milton will have their credentials tested when they make the trip to third-placed Hook and Newnham Basics.

Captain Dave Wheeler, who has named an unchanged side, is hoping his men can enhance their excellent record of 10 wins in 11 matches.

Elsewhere, seventh-placed Bournemouth seconds will attempt to climb into mid-table when they host lowly Burridge.

Bournemouth II: Miller, Scott, Hurley, C Ridley, Kennedy, Anderson, P Smith, Ackland, Clarke, Garlick, R Coombs.

New Milton: Wheeler, Adlem, Freeman, Linge, Neal, L Beck, Whitehurst, R Beck, Gargaro, T Prodomo, Loader.

<•>Bashley have been handed a big incentive to beat Havant in Sunday’s Southern Electric Twenty20 Cup quarter-final home tie.

Should they progress, the New Forest outfit would entertain ECB Cockspur Twenty20 Cup kings Bournemouth in the last four on July 25, with the victors guaranteed a place in the Hampshire Rose Bowl final next month against either Andover or Hook and Newnham Basics.
