SKIPPER Phil Park rescued Cranborne from a perilous position by fearlessly smashing two sixes to earn his side the tightest of one-wicket wins at Kingston Lacy.

Park's charges were staring at their first defeat of the season as Lacy reduced them to 199-9, chasing 208 for victory.

But the captain stepped in to end the game with two lusty hits as Cranborne reached 213-9 to squeak home by the narrowest margin.

Park enjoyed his afternoon having earlier helped restrict the hosts to 207-8 with a hat-trick.

He was backed up by Ryan Beck (4-35) while some big hitting from Colin Randall (39) and Eric Linge (38) aided the Lacy total.

Cyril Poores then did the hard yards for the Cranes, compiling a patient 108 and sharing a partnership of 104 with Dan Adlem (40) before Park's late fireworks.

PAR LAST THE COURSE

Parley battled back from a seemingly hopeless position to earn a 13-run over Blandford and keep the heat on Cranborne at the top.

Having amassed 278-9, Parley were left toiling in the field as Alex White (99) and Chris Baker (105 not out) guided the visitors to a seemingly unassailable position at 213-1.

But Raj Niak's dismissal of White triggered a dramatic fightback as seven wickets fell for 49 runs and Blandford closed on 265-8.

Niak had help set up the victory with a solid 78 in the hosts' total, opener Jy Taylor kick-starting the innings with 39.

RYAN'S DOUBLE

West Indian Ryan Wiggins cracked his second consecutive Sunday century to single-handedly destroy Poole Town in Wayfarers' three-wicket win.

The Barbadian took a liking to the Poole Park track and hammered some huge blows to finish not out on 136 in his side's 232-7.

Phil Harris provided the rock on which Poole's 230-9 was built, notching 84, and he was well assisted by Kiwi Gus Cameron (46). Wayfarers skipper Adrian Skirrow bagged 4-56, then offered the main support to Wiggins with 36.

STUDLAND SUNK

Bournemouth mastered a tricky run chase to defeat Studland by two wickets.

The Ferry Lane outfit have racked up some massive scores at home this summer but were restricted to 211-7 by Chris Haniff's men. And despite a few wobbles, Bournemouth edged past their target with eight wickets down to remain in third.

Colehill face a 40-point deduction after they were forced to forfeit their game with Henstridge because they couldn't raise a side.

WIN OF THE WEEK

You can't knock top dogs Cranborne in Division One, who laughed in the face of a potentially nervy finish by blasting their way to a tight one-wicket win.

In Division Five, high-flying Blandford Nomads were brought down to earth with a bump by Boscombe, who inflicted a six-wicket defeat on them.

And spare a thought for poor Ibberton already recipients of the heaviest defeat of the season so far in the Dorset Leagues, they beat their own record in crashing to Swanage 2nds by 312 runs in Division Six.
