WIMBORNE captain Russell Tinsdale believes they won’t come straight back down if they go up from Southern Counties South.

Title-chasing All Blacks face a tough home test against play-off rivals Sherborne tomorrow (3pm) despite winning 25-17 away against the same opposition.

The Leigh Parkers are just one point behind Frome and will hope the table-toppers slip up at Dorchester.

Asked if Wimborne were equipped to survive at the higher level, Tinsdale said: “I think Wimborne should be in South West One. We have enough talent and youngsters in the squad to get settled in the league above.”

With Steve King (shoulder), James Mikolajewski (shoulder) and Jamie Hawkings (knee) injured, Uruguayan Oscar Vezquez gets his first start and will take over kicking duties against Sherborne.

Tinsdale said: “Sherborne have only lost once in nine games since we beat them and they’ve drawn 5-5 at Frome, so it’s a massive game for us.”
