OAKMEADIANS are reeling after losing influential number eight Hayden Hokianga for a month through injury.

He completed their morale-boosting 12-6 home win over Olney in South West One East on Saturday. But Hokianga later learned he’d torn a cruciate ligament in his knee.

Oaks acting coach Will Croker said: “It’s a big blow to us, and to Hayden. He’s probably out for a month, although he’ll probably try and come back for our league game against High Wycombe on December 19.

“If he’s not fully fit then, it might be better to aim for our Dorset & Wilts Cup tie against Salisbury on January 2.

“Will Samuels was concussed and is out for three weeks, and Ollie Hare misses two weeks after having wisdom teeth out.”

Jeremy Cook slotted over four penalties for Oaks.
