BOURNEMOUTH remain firmly in the hunt for the SPL Division One title after a convincing derby victory over Lymington.
As matches returned to the 50-over format, Bournemouth adjusted quickly to secure their first win for more than a month.
Lymington batted first at Chapel Gate and were dismissed for just 143 (Rob Lammiman 25, Tommy Barton 25).
Their collapse owed much to the bowling of Ed Denham (3-35 off 10 overs) and three run outs, two of which came thanks to direct hits.
In reply, the hosts soon set about the target and reached it in the 41st over for the loss of just four wickets.
Simon Watkins led the way with an unbeaten 52, while James Park scored 30. Morgan Rushbrook (2-28) was Lymington’s most successful bowler.
n Captain Andy Neal claimed four wickets as Bashley beat St Cross Symondians by seven runs.
In a low-scoring clash, Andy Sexton and Neil Thurgood (both 34) top-scored as Bashley were skittled for 139.
But that proved enough as Neal – with the help of Kevin Nash and Gavin Bailiff who took two wickets apiece – restricted St Cross to 132 for nine.
n Dan Loader was the star of the show as New Milton recorded a five-wicket win over OTs and Romsey in Division Two.
He took five for 20 – and a catch – as the visitors managed 148 for eight batting first.
Loader then took centre stage with the bat, hitting 78 to help Ryan Beck’s men claim the verdict.
