BOURNEMOUTH had opener Tom Wilkinson to thank as they leapfrogged Parley at the top of the table.

The Chapel Gate outfit look favourites to claim the Dorset Sunday Division One crown following their comfortable victory over Blandford at the weekend.

And Wilkinson played the starring role, hitting 82 in the 91-run triumph.

Bournemouth posted 207 for six batting first in an innings which was built around Wilkinson’s fine knock, with handy contributions also coming from Jon Symons (29*), Simon Ridley (24), John Marsh (23*) and Ian Pearce (22).

In reply, Blandford fell well short on 116 for seven after losing wickets at regular intervals.

Marsh completed a good performance by claiming impressive figures of three for 12 off seven overs.

  • Cranborne sealed a thrilling victory over Studland after Phil Park and Dave Coy produced a match-winning eighth-wicket partnership. With their team slumping to 98 for seven (Dan Loader 49) in pursuit of the 191-run target, Park (40) and Coy (42*) came good to earn the verdict.

Earlier, Mark Elliott (50) and Phil Lewis (49) got Studland off to a good start and Steve Lawson (33*) helped them reach 190 for six.

Dan Loader (3-33) returned Cranborne’s best figures, with Charlie Arnold also claiming two wickets.

Cody Haymen (3-42) helped put Cranborne in trouble in their reply before Park and Coy swung the game back in their side’s favour.

  • Parley conceded pole position in the title race as they lost to Poole Town by 21 runs.

Having defeated Bournemouth to rise to the summit last month, Parley slipped back down into second spot after Sunday’s low-scoring clash.

But it looked like a different outcome was on the cards when teenager Jack Rowett (4-29) helped dismiss Poole for 114.

Parley, however, fell short in reply as they were knocked over for 93.

  • The matches between Henstridge and St Georges and Kingston Lacy and Christchurch were called off due to unfit grounds.
