DANIEL Davidsson has put his Pirates demise down to his “lack of organisation” off track.

The Swede, who made it clear he had no qualms with Poole Castle Cover chief Matt Ford’s decision to axe him, admitted he “had learnt a big lesson this season”.

Davidsson, whose place in the Dorset club’s team has been taken by young Dane Leon Madsen, said: “Pirates have had a busy schedule of meetings recently and I just couldn’t keep up off track.

“I haven’t had a problem with one or two meetings a week, but when it’s three or four and you also throw in my meetings in Sweden, it caused a lot of problems.

“We arrived at Coventry after heat five at about 8.40pm and the bikes weren’t good enough.

“Then we turned up at Belle Vue 15 minutes before the start and the bikes were in pieces.

“It’s just not good enough. I just don’t have the organisation and my mechanic has not been able to keep up with the tempo.

“It’s my fault really. I should have seen it coming, but I didn’t so I’ve paid the penalty.”

Ford highlighted Davidsson’s “unprofessionalism off the track” as the main reason for his Wimborne Road exit, and the Swede agreed to a certain extent.

Davidsson said: “I’ve got no argument with Matt’s decision. I understand his view. Looking at our scores, something had to be done.

“But I think it’s a bit off saying I should spend more time in England, but maybe I should have spent more money on getting my back-up right.

“After all, I spent seven hours at Stansted before the Coventry meeting and five hours at the airport before the Belle Vue one waiting for my mechanic to pick me up.

“So I’m not going to allow that to happen again.

“Matt and I have left on a good note. He understands me and I understand him. So I may be back for another season, you don’t know.

“I haven’t been on any forums, but I imagine I’ve been dragged through the mud.

“But I don’t listen to people who don’t understand anything about it, I only listen to people who have a good understanding about what goes on.”

“My bikes are still in England and my average is 3.71, so I’ve closed no doors to anyone. But if I return, it will be under different off-track circumstances.

“Even if Matt phoned me tomorrow, I would come back.

“I love the club and the fans, so if they need me I will always go there.”
