CHRIS Daniels continued his sizzling summer by becoming Hampshire singles champion at Southampton.
The in-form Boscombe Cliff bowler turned what many thought would be a close final into a masterclass as he crushed fellow Middleton Cup skip Peter Ward (Ringwood) 21-4 inside 13 ends on the Atherley green.
Daniels, who has beaten England regulars Rob Newman and Ian Honnor in the Middleton Cup this season, has now won all the major Hampshire championships as well as the two-wood triples and the secretaries singles, which was his first trophy 24 years ago when a member of Littleton at Winchester.
Boscombe Cliff also carried off the pairs title through Darren Clark and Nicky Jones, who overcame Kevin Philip and Jim Marsland (Aldershot Traction) 18-15, while Michael Hutley of the B&D champions reached the under-25 final, where he faces Tom Bishop (Atherley) on a date to be arranged.
All these bowlers will represent Hampshire in the Bowls England Championships at Worthing (August 8-22).
