PAST champion Martyn Thompson goes in search of his second Virgin Atlantic PGA National Pro-Am Championship title at Broadstone next week.
The Parkstone professional teams up with club member Mike Francis in the regional final at the Wentworth Drive course on Tuesday.
At stake is a coveted place in the 36-hole grand final of Europe’s biggest pro-am at the PGA Sultan Course in Turkey.
Thompson, who won the £5,000 first prize at San Lorenzo in Portugal six years ago, is hoping this year’s Dorset venue will spark a similar success.
“It’s a course I like a lot and one that suits my game,” explained Thompson, who carded an impressive 66 in the recent Bournemouth Alliance meeting at Broadstone.
Host professional Mat Wilson and Broadstone member Frank Fellows are also taking part in the regional final. Other East Dorset clubs represented are Bulbury Woods (David Adams and Philip Keyte) and Ashley Wood (Jon Shimmons and Thomas Kiey).
