NORTH Dorset completed a highly-successful season by claiming the Dorset and Wiltshire Vase.

Pete Kennedy’s men saw off Devizes 24-7 at Chippenham, with Simon Keates (conv) and Alex Soskin (try) starting the victory march.

Jay Westcar made it 12-0, before Rich Miller bagged North’s third try to take Kennedy’s troops into the break 17-0 in front.

Despite Devizes taking the game to North after the restart, Luke Spicer’s discipline kept them at bay, before the very same man broke away to score under the posts midway through the second half.

Keates converted, but there was just enough time for Devizes to snatch a consolation try and conversion 10 minutes from time.

Meanwhile, North’s impressive under-15s completed their colts campaign with a 49-10 win over Swanage & Wareham.

  • Wimborne’s under-18s claimed the Dorset & Wiltshire bragging rights after dispatching Bournemouth 34-13 at North Dorset.

The victory means the young All Blacks have gone unbeaten for the entire season.

In the under-11 Twin Counties cup final, meanwhile, Swanage & Wareham tied in third with Wimborne.
