EAST Christchurch SSC are champions of the Hayward Sunday Premier League after injury-hit title rivals Branksome Railway crashed to a 6-0 defeat against Branksome Conservative.

Anthony Winders bagged a hat-trick with Danny Wilson (2) and Scott Davidson also on target and, ironically, Branksome Conservative will be meeting East Christchurch SSC at Hurn Bridge on Thursday night in the M A Hart Robbins Cup Final (7.30pm).

Mike Haskell tucked away a hat-trick for West Moors SSC in the other Premier League game and, with Jon Armour and Adrian Woodall adding one each, they were 5-0 winners against Hordle Spurs.

DIVISION ONE

SPIRE Broadway clinched the title with an emphatic 8-0 triumph over Cranleigh with goals from Luke McCoy (2), Shaun Walbridge, Adrian Pavey, Craig Davey, Tom Flynn, Shane Hiscox and Garry Horlock.

DIVISION TWO

TOM Glancy (2) and Mark Henson gave-second placed Heritage a 3-2 success against Littledown, but promotion rivals TX United were also 3-2 winners when Dale Grimshaw, Shane Walton Jnr and Dean Evans accounted for New Star United.

TX are now three points behind with three games in hand.

In the other divisional game played, Michal Petrec earned Magdon Scaffolding a 1-1 draw with relegation threatened Branksome Celtic.

DIVISION THREE

TIEGLA Tiles’ championship aspirations took a turn for the worse when White Heather Hornets toppled them 3-2 on Thursday night but they bounced back with a 4-1 victory over Joscelyne Builders thanks to Sam Cole (2), Andy Masson and David Couch.

Wayne Nash and Gary Ryall netted for Eurasat Lions but they had to settle for a point when Darren Head struck twice to earn White Heather Hornets a 2-2 draw.

Boscombe Celtic are staging a valiant late bid to avoid the drop, beating Ferndown Locomotive 2-0 during the week and then pulling off an impressive 4-2 win over AFC Verwood with goals from Stuart McKillop (2), Ian Brown and Matt Murray.

DIVISION FOUR

STEVE Haime and Shahram Sam-Daliri plundered five and four goals respectively when champions Queens Park signed off with a 10-0 trouncing of AFC Banter with the other goal coming from James Burgess.

Rec Athletic clinched the runners-up spot with a 2-1 midweek win over promotion rivals Ensbury Park but then went down 2-1 to a couple of goals from William Mills against third-placed JS Bournemouth Sports.

Ensbury Park returned to winning ways to subdue Cricketers Arms 3-0 with goals from Darren Spiers, Cliff Newton, and Luke McArdle.

DIVISION FIVE

ROSSMORE Athletic are four points clear after hammering AFC Stourvale 9-2 through Dale Hyne, Shane Barney, Josh Carrivick, Sean Johnson, Liam Meldrum, Aaron Carrivick and an Aaron Stacey hat-trick.

There are three other teams in with a chance though, and Tudor Rose were 2-1 winners on Thursday night and looked set for another three points when, with just 15 minutes left, they led 2-0 with goals from Sam Kearley and Ryan Moir against promotion rivals Shoulder of Mutton United.

However, third-placed United salvaged a 2-2 draw thanks to two goals from Jamie Moores.

Umix are also still in contention and they gave Mercury Reserves a 4-1 tonking through Joe Toghill (2), Adrian Snell and an own goal.
