M A HART Poole Bay Challenge Cup winners Bournemouth Electric landed their second trophy in three days when Max Wilcock settled the issue 1-0 at Sway to clinch the Hayward Saturday Premier Division title.

Sway’s hopes of finishing second had suffered a setback in the week when Hamworthy Recreation scuppered them 4-2 thanks to a Jamie Moores hat-trick and a Martin Warren strike.

Pennington St Marks must be wondering what they’ve got to do to beat second-placed Westover Bournemouth these days.

Pennington had most of the play but went behind to a first-half goal from Ed Ewens. Dale Waters then secured a 2-0 win for Westover with an amazing individual effort, carrying the ball over half the length of the pitch before rounding the keeper and slotting it home.

The combination of this result and Sway’s defeat against Electric guarantees Westover the runners-up spot with two games still to play.
