COACH James Croker has issued a firm warning to Oakmeadians' promotion rivals: Catch our Bunny' if you can.

Oaks are set to unleash Army and newly-selected England Sevens star Bunny' Burenivalu against Sherborne at Meyrick Park tomorrow (3pm), as Croker's troops look to cement their status as Southern Counties South title favourites.

Croker, who described Burenivalu as "prolific", told the Echo: "He played for us in the Bournemouth Sevens and scored a hat-trick in the first half against Bournemouth so we stopped giving him the ball.

"I've worked with him before for the Combined Services and he's based in Marchwood. I contacted him but he's had offers from bigger clubs.

"He's got a young family and Newbury offered him a contract but he doesn't want to commit to going up there and playing nation-wide at the moment.

"He's just made the England Sevens squad through residency and he is prolific."

Croker added: "The problem is we don't know what he's like in contact because we've never seen anyone tackle him!

"It's great that he is putting Oaks on the map. He genuinely is a National One or Premiership winger, but he wants to be a family man so he's happy to be playing close to base.

"We should have him for this season and maybe next, but then I think he'll be looking at the Premiership or National One."

Will Drummond comes in for Jamie Parker who is unavailable for tomorrow's home encounter against Sherborne, but Croker has an otherwise fully-fit squad to choose from.

Oaks: (from) Collins, Drummond, Hare, Stephens, Burenivalu, Tryska, Harman, Smith, Atkins, Riley, W Croker, Hudson, McMahon, Flower, Hokianga, Carmichael, R Stephenson, Hicks.

  • Meanwhile, Wimborne face North Dorset at Leigh Park tomorrow in Southern Counties South (3pm).

Russ Tinsdale's side will be looking to bounce back from Saturday's morale-sapping 10-8 defeat at Sherborne.

The All Blacks skipper said: "It's tough for us at the moment because we've lost four or five players and gained about two from the colts.

"Sometimes it's good to have a little bit of new blood to give the older guys a boost, but it hasn't really happened this year.

"I'm not sure what to expect from North Dorset as they beat Frome last week and I'd tipped Frome to be up at the top."

Wimborne: (from) Tinsdale, Murphy, R Lynch, Day, Peart, Napier, Coulling, Morgan, Llewellyn, Roberts, Chapman, Griffith, Miko, King, Maltmant, Unwin, Jordan, Wareham.
