CHERRIES women boss Steve Cuss feels that games in quick succession against the same opposition are part and parcel of the game as he prepares his troops for another battle with Keynsham Town.

Last month Cherries ran out 3-1 winners away at Keynsham, with goals from Molly Barron-Clark, Lucy Cooper, and Amber Treweek.

This weekend Keynsham visit Vitality Stadium, with over 5,500 tickets already sold.

Asked about the prospect of facing the same opposition twice in a short period of time, Cuss replied: “There's probably positives and negatives.

“I think when you play a team where you've already played them a few weeks ago, you probably know a lot about each other.

“It's in your memory that they had this player or that player that was good.

“And it'll be the same for them. They'll be talking about us.

“It's good that we film our games, so we've got our video footage of that, and we were able to show the players bits this week about what we want them to try and do against them.

“But it's something that, again, we're used to having.

“We do have cancellations during the season, and sometimes when those games are put back, they can be close to another game against the same opposition.

“Even this year we've played the same team twice in two weeks because we drew them in a cup competition.

“So there's pros and cons, but I don't think it will affect the players too much.”
