BOURNEMOUTH Bobcats will travel to Norwich Devils this weekend, after overcoming London Blitz B in the wildcard round of the British American Football League play-offs.

Bournemouth travelled to Finsbury Park to play Blitz, triumphing 13-7.

The first quarter passed scoreless, Bobcats quarterback Sam Chance suffering a minor knee injury after taking a late hit.

Shortly into the second quarter Bobcats put points in the field with a short passing touchdown to Jason Griffith, with a good extra point kick.

Looking to stay in the game, Blitz came back strong and took a defensive pick to the endzone, with the extra point taking the scores level.

As the two-minute warning was called Blitz's offence were looking to take the lead heading into the second half but defence kept them at bay, blocking a field goal attempt and almost running it back the whole field, but another pick turned the play over once more and Blitz B took a knee to see out the half.

As the second half got underway Blitz's offence returned to the field but the Bobcats defences held firm and made light work on their attempts. With the knee injury affecting the pass game, Bobcats adapted to a run heavy offence and saw the whole offence come together to move the ball.

Some fantastic punts from kicker Harrison Cooper saw the Blitz offence starting on their own one-yard line multiple times and were just unable to beat the Bournemouth defence.

Early in the fourth quarter a QB rush took Bobcats ahead once more but Blitz blocked the attempt, making the score 13-7. An unwavering performance from the defence and some good clock management from the Bobcats saw the rest of the time out, to get the win.

Bobcats next face Norwich Devils on Sunday.
