THE beautiful game could be sacrificed tonight when Bashley aim to get their play-off push back on track.

Steve Riley's side travel to face Bromsgrove Rovers (7.45pm) on the back of a disappointing draw against Rugby Town on Saturday.

Bash are strongly positioned to finish in the Southern League Premier Division play-off zone, but tonight's test is one of four away games in their final five fixtures.

And boss Riley is prepared to ditch his usual tactics in order to get a positive result.

He said: "It's not the best pitch there and it could be a battle, with some route one, but we'll wait and see.

"We're in a good position. We have some tough games coming up but we're ready and I think we'll get back on track tonight."

Riley added: "I just had a feeling after Tuesday's performance against Team Bath that mentally and physically we had some tired bodies out there on Saturday."

The Bash player-manager has named an unchanged squad.

Bashley: (from) Elm, Gazzard, Ferrett, Castle, Middleton, Smith, Knowles, Sainsbury, Davis, Moss, Gillespie, Town, Keeler, Harper, Brock, Riley.

POPPIES' HOME COMFORTS

BOURNEMOUTH Poppies aim to confirm Victoria Park as the Wessex League's most formidable fortress tonight.

James Wood's side have gone all season without being beaten at the venue in the Sydenhams Premier Division.

And they look likely to preserve that record in their final home clash of the campaign against whipping boys Downton.

"It is a record we're very proud of and something we want to maintain," Wood told the Daily Echo. "I'm sure we'll be up for it."

Poppies have been the division's surprise package this season and came close to a serious title challenge, before falling away from runaway leaders AFC Totton.

But, despite a defeat at Brock-enhurst on Saturday, Wood's men can still finish runners-up.

"Every time I've asked for a response after a defeat the lads normally give me the right response," said the Poppies manager.

"I'd like to think it's going to be straightforward, but sometimes that isn't the case."

Poppies: (from) Kearn, Beckett, Morrell, Crow, Cherrett, Dibba, Smith, Dancer, Sanderson, Constable, Strong, Phillips, Jeffes, McCabe, White, M Toy, Barnes.

MAGPIES TO SHUFFLE PACK

DESPITE naming an unchanged squad, player-boss Christer War-ren is expected to alter his Wim-borne Town line-up for tonight's trip to Fareham (7.45pm).

Warren's side dropped out of the Premier Division title race after losing 1-0 against local rivals Poole Town at the weekend.

Magpies' only injury concern is over midfielder Warren, who has a dead leg.

Wimborne: (from) Hutchings, Walker-Harris, Jones, Percival, Roast, Phillipson-Masters, Arnold, Warren, Vavrecka, McCormick, James, Whitcher, Bailey-Pearce, Stokoe, Joyce, Haysom.
