PIRATES captain Bjarne Pedersen has admitted he wants to show Jason Crump his back wheel in their Elite League clash at Belle Vue tonight (7.30pm).

But at the same time the Dane insisted there was nothing personal with wanting to lower the colours of his former Poole Castle Cover team-mate.

Crump was signed for a Pirates club record £28,000 plus VAT at the beginning of 2007 but released back on loan to the Aces, his former club, in November after Pedersen was re-signed by the Dorset club.

The Australian, who had also wanted to lead Poole this year, has already pointedly beaten Pedersen off a 10-metre handicap in the Diamond Jubilee meeting at Wimborne Road in March.

So Pedersen will be gunning for revenge tonight.

Looking ahead to a meeting that will be covered live by Sky Sports, Pedersen said: "Of course Jason wants to beat me and I want to beat him. That is how speedway works.

"He probably wants to prove he can beat me because he was a Poole rider last year and especially after what has happened.

"But it is always going to be like that in this sport because riders change clubs all the time.

"It's just normal and at the end of the day I want to win races and he wants to win races.

"That is the way we do our jobs for the club and earn our money. There is nothing personal about wanting to beat each other, we are just racers and it's in our nature.

"I know Jason has had a good start to the season, and we know he is good round Belle Vue, but I will go and do my best and hopefully turn up a couple of heat wins."

Pirates use rider replacement for injured Adam Skornicki, while Aces bring in number eight Robert Ksiezak for injured Steve Boxall.

Skornicki has had an operation to pin a broken bone in his wrist and is targeting Pirates' home league clash against Coventry on April 16 as his comeback meeting for the club.

Originally, it was feared the Pole would have to be sidelined at least until the end of the month after sustaining the break in a track spill at Swindon on March 27.
