EDDIE Howe says he is looking to add “quality rather than quantity” to his squad as the Premier League summer transfer window swings open tomorrow.
Clubs in the top flight of English football have until 5pm on Thursday, August 8 – before the start of the 2019-20 season – to recruit and sell players.
Last summer, the Cherries boss made three signings, with David Brooks, Jefferson Lerma and Diego Rico joining the Dorset club.
And Howe admits he does not believe a raft of additions are necessary ahead of a fifth Premier League campaign.
He told the Daily Echo: “I don’t think a massive overhaul is ever good for us. I think every manager says it, we’re looking at quality rather than quantity. We’ll wait and see.
“There’s no guarantees, I think I say every year that there are no guarantees we’ll be successful in our attempts to do what we want to do.
“We’ve got a good nucleus of a squad here, I think that’s the key thing. I don’t think there needs to be drastic changes but of course we would like to add quality if we can.”
