BUOYANT Michael Cuffie claimed success in the Bournemouth Senior Cup final would mean "everything to everyone" associated with Poppies.

The Wessex Premier side face lower-league opponents Hythe & Dibden in tomorrow's clash at Hurn Bridge (7.45pm).

Poppies secured their spot in the final thanks to wins over Dorset Premier League outfit Hamworthy Recreation and fellow step-five clubs Bashley and Lymington Town.

Discussing the prospect of earning silverware, boss Cuffie told the Daily Echo: "Winning the trophy would mean everything to everyone at the club.

"We are only halfway through the season and to be in a final at this stage is great. It would be a boost for the players to be rewarded for the hard work they have put in.

"I am very fortunate to work with a very good team, not just the players but the staff as well. We are all pulling together and that is why we are doing well.

"I have been here a few years and have never been in this situation before but I am enjoying it.

"It is nice to have a buzz and to see the players playing with smiles on their faces. We don't worry about anything because we go into every game believing we are going to win."

Hythe & Dibden have reached the final in their first season in the competition.

The Wessex One outfit sunk higher-league sides Brockenhurst, Christchurch and Hamworthy United, and also beat Wyvern Combination Premier side Poole Town reserves, to set up a meeting with Poppies.

"We are not taking Hythe lightly because they are a good side," said Cuffie. "To beat Hamworthy United, you have to be a decent team.

"They are in the final for a reason and we are as well. I am looking forward to a very good game."
