CHRISTCHURCH midfielder Will Robinson faces an anxious wait to discover whether his season has come to a premature end after he broke his collarbone in two places.

Robinson sustained the injury during Priory’s 5-1 defeat by Sholing at Hurn Bridge on Friday when he collided with an opponent who then accidentally landed on him.

He was taken to Royal Bournemouth Hospital – where he was later joined by team-mate Max Wilcock who needed seven stitches in a nasty head wound suffered in the same game.

Robinson is due to learn in the next few days whether he will need surgery to repair the damage which would all but rule him out for the rest of the season.

Christchurch welcome back Luke Stone, James King and Karl Yelland for the visit of New Milton in the first round of the Hampshire Senior Cup tomorrow (7.45pm).

Grant Cormack halved the deficit against Sholing 11 minutes from time before Lee Wort plundered a six-minute hat-trick to give the scoreline a flattering look.

Priory boss Ollie Cherrett said: “I was pleased with the performance against Sholing. We were in the game until the last 10 minutes when injuries and a couple of individual mistakes cost us. They have real quality and punished us.

“We are looking to get back to winning ways against New Milton. They have changed completely changed this season and have gone with youth and good young players so we will have to be at our best.”
