PACE pair Matt Metcalfe and Josh Proctor made light work of Havant’s batting line-up to help Lymington to a nine-wicket win in the Southern Premier League.

The duo combined with nine wickets between them to dismiss the visitors for a miserly 91 at the Sports Ground and give Lymo their third win of the campaign.

Already weakened by the absence of in-form opener Stuart Ransley and left-arm spin all-rounder Chris Morgan, Havant toppled from 37 without loss and surrendered their final five wickets for a meagre 13 runs.

Former Dorset Minor Counties ace Metcalfe (5-20) recorded his 28th five-wicket haul in Southern League cricket.

Proctor (4-31), who this season joined Lymington from Hampshire League outfit Ryde, recorded his best figures of the campaign.

Kieran Moors clung on to three catches behind the stumps as Havant totalled five runs fewer than the 96 they managed when losing to Bashley seven days previously.

It took Lymington 16 overs to complete the formalities with the bat.

Ben Rogers hit an unbeaten 37 and Ryan Scott was 32 not out, after Ollie Calcott (21) had been bowled by Cam Prentice.

Lymington’s Scott is the second-highest scoring batsman in the division this season, with 414 runs coming at an average of just less than 60.
