MARCUS Ward claimed a double victory at rounds five and six of the Classic Stock Hatch Championship at Welsh circuit Pembrey.
The Wimborne driver had won the previous two rounds at Mallory Park and picked up where he had left off.
In the first race, Ward grabbed the lead in his Fiesta XR2i from second on the grid, a position he maintained despite a lengthy battle with Pete Morgan.
Race two saw Ward start with a 75kg success ballast after winning three races in a row.
The Dorset ace could not beat Morgan into the first corner and he proceeded to shadow his rival.
However, Morgan was eventually handed a time penalty for exceeding track limits too many times, which elevated Ward to top spot.
He said: "I’m unbelievably chuffed at how the past two race weekends have gone. They couldn’t have gone better.”
As a result of his pair of victories, Ward is seven points adrift of standings leader Lee Scott, who drives the same vehicle.
In third place in his Vauxhall Nova GSi is Edward Cooper, while Martin Cayzer, another Fiesta driver, is also in close attendance.
