JEFFERSON Lerma’s agent Javier Abad says the Colombian star’s focus is entirely on the World Cup after revealing “several” English clubs had declared an interest.

Last month, The Sun reported Eddie Howe's Cherries were plotting an £18million bid for the Levante midfielder.

And the tabloid claimed the Dorset club hoped to agree a fee with the Spanish outfit while Lerma was away in Russia.

Watford have been linked with a move for the 23-year-old and clubs in La Liga and the Bundesliga are also reportedly interested.

Speaking to Gol Caracol, Abad said: “It is true that several English clubs have asked for Jefferson but only when we finish with the World Cup are we going to look.

“He does not want to talk about the subject and only has his head on Colombia.”

Lerma started the Group H defeat to Japan before coming on as a substitute for wins against Poland and Senegal.

He will hope to feature when England provide the opposition in the last 16 tomorrow.

Lerma joined Levante, initially on a 12-month loan, in 2015 after starting his career in his homeland with Atletico Huila.

He signed permanently on a four-year deal in July 2016 for a fee of around 600,000 euro.

Meanwhile, Cherries goalkeeper Adam Federici is understood to be on the verge of a permanent move to Stoke City.

The Potters are keen to find a replacement for Lee Grant, who is closing on a switch to Manchester United.

Federici, 33, has not played for Cherries for 18 months.

He suffered a serious knee injury last season, wrecking his hopes of a loan spell at Nottingham Forest.
