CHERRIES “look set to wrap up the £12million signing” of Sheffield United youngster David Brooks, according to the Daily Star.

The tabloid suggested the Wales international had been due to have a medical with the Dorset club earlier this afternoon.

Attacker Brooks has made 37 appearances for the Blades in all competitions, scoring three times and providing eight assists.

The publication also claims the former Manchester City youngster “alerted the likes of Tottenham and Liverpool but Cherries look to have stolen a march on their loftier Premier League rivals with a tempting bid”.

Brooks scored for England during the final of last year's Toulon Tournament before going on to win three caps for the Welsh senior squad, who he qualified for through his mother.

The 20-year-old signed a new four-year contract at Bramall Lane in October 2017.

Cherries are yet to add to their squad this summer, with striker Benik Afobe and winger Max Gradel the only major departures.
