DANIELLE Broom starred with two meeting best performances at the Dorset Schools’ Championship in King’s Park.

Broom threw 43.31m in the senior girls’ discus and 57.50m in the hammer.

Bethan Burley posted another meeting best, 64.6s for 400m hurdles. She also won both shot (10.88m) and javelin (36.90m).

Cameron Hale claimed a senior boys’ discus (41.66m) and javelin (55.37m) double, while Adam Phillips won both intermediate boys’ shot (12.99m) and discus (42.69m). Charlie McCaig threw the javelin 52.05m.

Brooke Ironside claimed an intermediate girls’ sprint double (12.7s, 25.8s), while Yasmin Bridet cleared the 80m hurdles in 12.0s.

Abbie Lovering enjoyed two 300m victories (42.0s flat, 45.5s hurdles).

Freya Cutler achieved a shot (11.08m) and discus (28.63m) double, while Abbie White threw the hammer 51.92m. Imogen Davis’s 33.34m won the javelin.

Liam Nixon raced to junior boys’ 300m victory in 38.9s. Akiva Bassford won the long jump (5.57m) and Ben Butcher, the triple jump (11.91m).

William Rabjohns posted a 4:37.2 meeting best for the Year 7 boys’ 1500m. Louis Bourke won both 100m (13.0s final, 12.9s heat) and long jump (4.98m).

Arief McKenna ran 2:18.4, edging the 800m from Tristan Green by half a second. Jakob Roberts cleared 1.56m for high jump victory, while Charlie Brookes won the shot (9.23m).

Ella Dalton won the Year 7 girls’ shot with 7.62m, while Amy Darragh gained the discus title (23.40m).
