BOURNEMOUTH Rowing Club requires just two more points to secure the Hants & Dorset Amateur Rowing Association Junior/Senior Championship.

The crew of Dom Bihari, Tom Cave, Dom Brancaleone and Nathan Prowles, along with coxswain Rees Gellender, extended to 5-1 their lead over Poole Amateur Rowing Club after picking up wins at Christchurch Regatta, Shanklin Regatta and Itchen Regatta.

Should Bournemouth manage to secure the title, they would be invited to represent the association at the South Coast Championship in September.

Their successful campaign has been the result of hard work and training under the supervision of head coach Alvin Ranson.

The crew is made up of former Harewood College students who came through the club’s strong ties with the school and a desire to introduce rowing to young members within the local community.

Bournemouth will be competing at Woolston on Saturday and in Swanage on June 23 where they hope to see off competition from Poole and Lymington to secure victory.
