TOP talent will descend on Harbourside Raceway when Poole Cycle Speedway Club stages the prestigious Ade Gale Laurels on Sunday.

The action begins at noon with the Dave Lanning junior Laurels, which will see Sheffield racer Ed Moreton aim to defend the title.

However, he will have to be at his best to fend off Great Britain international Will Jeffery, Newport's Sean Bennett and Ipswich's Lewis Brinkhoff.

Poole hopes will be pinned on Frazer Garnett, who finished runner-up in this year's world under-16 final in Adelaide, and his team-mate Ben Tinsdale.

Next up will be the women’s event (2pm), which features pre-meeting favourite Lauren Hookway.

The former British champion is in a fine form but will have to watch out for Great Britain colleagues Gemma Hill, Charlie Jane Herbert and Chloe Pearce.

Maddie Saunders heads the Poole challenge alongside Anna Tuttle and Kristina Mines.

The final event is the senior Laurels (4pm), in which three former world champions are set to lock horns.

Polish star and reigning champion Lukasz Nowacki heads the trio but will face strong opposition from Dave Helmsley and Steve Harris.

The field also includes Great Britain internationals Mark Carmichael and Zac Payne, while Maciej Ganczarek, Dawid Bas, Dean Hook, Will Bristowe and Jay Briggs will fly the flag for the Poole club.
