DEFENDER Steve Cook labelled Cherries’ 1-1 draw at West Ham as “two points dropped” rather than a point gained.
The centre-half admitted his frustration after Ryan Fraser’s second-half opener had been quickly cancelled out by Mexican frontman Chicharito.
With just one minute and five seconds between the goals, Cook insisted his side had “paid the price”.
He told the Daily Echo: “It didn’t feel as if we gained a point. It was two points dropped from our point of view.
“Apart from the first 20 minutes when I thought West Ham were good and we weren’t so good, the rest of the game we were on top and there was only one team which looked like winning. It was a big shame.”
Asked about the Irons’ leveller, he replied: “They won two headers. Franno (Simon Francis) made a great block but it fell straight to their player, it was unlucky but a disappointing goal to concede.
“Maybe we were a little too deep and maybe there wasn’t enough pressure on the ball forward – ultimately, we paid the price.
“It’s never nice to concede at any point in a game but a minute after we scored a terrific goal was very frustrating.”
