EDDIE Howe reckons Lys Mousset can become an "outstanding player" and praised the "dramatic strides" made by the youngster.

Signed from Le Havre for around £5.4million in July last year, attacker Mousset made 11 Premier League appearances last season, three of which were starts.

The France under-21 international has come off the bench on four occasions in the top flight this campaign.

He started in the 2-1 win at Stoke City and featured in all three of Cherries' Carabao Cup games to date but has yet to open his account for the Dorset club in a competitive fixture.

Howe told the Daily Echo: "When you consider the player who first came to us, I think he has made dramatic strides in many areas of his game.

"I think there is so much more to come. I see the player in training every day so I'm at an advantage to other people – I see what is there and what he can become in the future.

"He has the ability to go right to the top. He has lots of things he needs to improve to get there but I don't think we've seen the very best of him in a Bournemouth shirt yet.

"There is lots of hard work ahead of Lys but, ultimately, he could become an outstanding player."
